The lake at Don Knabe Community Regional Park (Cerritos) is a Fishing in the City staple — CDFW has run kids derbies here, plants trout in season, and lists it among the LA County waters with a five-catfish bag. Easy parking, flat banks, and a crowd after a plant. Go for the event if you have kids; go midweek if you want space.
