Elizabeth Lake

Elizabeth Lake is a natural sag pond in the Leona Valley, not a dammed reservoir. Largemouth, catfish, and panfish show when there is water; in dry years the fishery shrinks with the shoreline. It is a north-county trip, closer to Palmdale than to downtown, and it is not on the CDFW urban trout-plant circuit. Check current water level before you drive.

What you'll find here

Natural sag-pond lake on the San Andreas in the north county. Levels fluctuate.

Regulations reminder

Size limits, bag limits, seasons, and MPA rules are set by CDFW and can change in-season. Public-pier license exceptions (CCR 1.88) apply only on qualifying structures — not on the beach next to them. This is an independent site and is not affiliated with CDFW.
